The Sun Gun is a top-rated spray tanning salon in East Idaho that specializes in training spray tan artists. Their website wasn’t pulling its weight: online product sales were down and their local ranking on Google didn’t match reality — after all, this is the top spray tan salon in Idaho Falls.
With all projects, I started by researching and making note of areas that needed improvement. This project would have three main goals:
Improve local rankings on Google with a local SEO strategy
Redesign the entire website on Shopify
Improve conversions with an online Shade Finder quiz and easy access to FAQ/how-to directions
The online strategy has been nothing short of a success. By following my SEO to-do list, The Sun Gun now regularly ranks in the top 3 position on Google for “spray tan Idaho Falls.”
The new website is fun, engaging, and easy to navigate. By sectioning the website for each audience (those who tan at home, or at the salon, or become a spray tan artist), I was able to make it easy for customers to get right to the next step. Custom graphics & SVG animation only make the experience more enjoyable.
I built The Shade Finder as a selling tool. It connects users to the exact product & shade they need, but it also saves their information, automatically emails them a coupon to use, and has the ability to remind them to reorder when their product is just about to run out.
