Vermont Camp Association is one of the most helpful resources to Vermonters who are looking for a camp for their child or for their organization. Their previous website was difficult to use and didn’t capture the beauty of the area. They reached out to me to help with a full redesign of the website and even a new logo.
I started by picking a color palette that had a retro vibe. I wanted to bring a feeling of nostalgia to the website so that parents would think back to their summers at camp. This then inspired the idea of using a Polaroid border on the website and around the photos throughout the design. After building the beauty, it was time to build the brains of the website. I set up the camp directory and added custom filters to make it easy for users to search and sort for the camps that meet their criteria. I then created a template for the client to use whenever a new camp needed to be added.
